Crunchy, cheesy, fluffy Italian Breadstick Donuts dipped in a delicious homemade marinara sauce is the secret to a happy life ☀️ • I thought of this while holding a box of donuts and thinking “what would be the perfect savory version of a donut?” and decided a marriage between breadsticks and mozzarella sticks needed to be officiated. • BEST PIZZA DOUGH: you’ll find my recipe pinned to the top of my profile. If you’re wondering what fermented dough is, it’s simply dough that sits in the fridge for a number of days. • MARINARA SAUCE: 28oz can crushed tomatoes 1 (6oz) can tomato paste 4 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley 1 garlic clove, minced 1 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp salt ¼ tsp ground black pepper 6 Tbsp olive oil ⅓ C finely diced onion ½ C white wine • Follow the instructions in this video on how to cut the dough and cook the sauce. Sauce should cook for about 10-15 minutes and allow to cool for about 10 minutes off the heat. • HELPFUL TIPS: -Make sure fresh mozzarella is patted DRY, otherwise your dough will become too wet and slippery to seal -Make sure you use an oil specific to frying (such as vegetable oil or corn oil) and reaches 325°F -If prepping outside, don’t let dough sit in sunlight too long or it’ll get too stretchy when you pick it up. I recommend placing formed donuts in the freezer for about 20 minutes before placing in the oil • TOOLS USED: @barebonesliving Cowboy Grill, blower, and cast iron cookware. Let me know if you have any questions about these 💯 • Hope you give this a shot and love it as much as I do🔥 • #pizza #cheese #pizzalover #bread #foodie #cooking #overthefirecooking #fire #outdoorcooking #donuts
